Hello my lovelies! Today I am bringing to you a tutorial on how to crochet a velvet scrunchie. This is a very quick and easy step by step tutorial. It creates the most perfect and cute scrunchie in less than 10 minutes!

The pattern for a velvet scrunchie
This crochet scrunchie is a great idea for gifts and presents. The best part is that it is very quick, and uses only a tiny bit of gorgeous velvet yarn.
Crochet a Velvet Scrunchie: the yarn
I used Bernat Velvet for the purple one, and James C Brett Flutterby chunky for the white. Both are a delight to crochet with! You will only need a tiny bit of each skein, so it really is great. I am already thinking of my next velvet project for this yarn!
Crochet a velvet scrunchie: it’s a very easy pattern
If you are a beginner crocheter, this is a great project! You can crochet it very easily, as it uses a repeat of only Double Crochets. It is the perfect beginner friendly project, plus at the end of this project, you will have a beautiful and feminine scrunchie!

Gauge: Gauge is not crucial for completion of this project
1 skein of Bernat Velvet Yarn
A 6 mm crochet hook
A tapestry needle
A pair of scissors
Simple elastic band
Sl st: Slip stitch
DC: Double Crochet
Start pattern here:
Tie velvet yarn around elastic band
Ch 3 (=DC), add DC all around the elastic band. Scrunch up the DC as you go, so as to add more DC, and have a “frilly” look.
Once you are satisfied with the appearance of your scrunchie, slip stitch through the first 3 ch and fasten off.
Tidy up all loose ends.
