Today I wanted to share a new crochet pattern and video tutorial, which is a man scarf. It is a gorgeous and easy project to work up, and an added bonus is that it is made with chunky yarn, so it goes really quickly.

Crochet Easy and Stylish Man Scarf: A delight to crochet

This is an absolutely delightful pattern to crochet. It a simple repeat of Single and Double crochets, creating the most beautiful tightly woven stitch. I think looks very manly and stylish. I love creating crochet patterns for men. It is always so nice to be able to make something to gift the special men in your life, such as your father, other half or brother. This project consists of a very easy and repetitive stitch. If you are a beginner crocheter, please do not be afraid, as it will be very easy to get the hang of it and build up the project quickly.

James C Brett Marble Chunky Yarn

The yarn I chose, James C Brett Marble chunky is an absolute joy to crochet with. Indeed, it is soft and squishy. It also offers a very varied panel of colours to choose from, a lot of which are very masculine colours, something I sometimes struggle to find.

Indeed, I don’t always find manly colours or textures for crochet garments for men, at least not in shops. I was delighted when I found this yarn, which is so lovely, and washes really well, too. I definitely recommend it; they also have a lot of very feminine colours. This is great because you will be able to create this very pattern, only using a feminine colour, and it will look just as amazing!

I also like the fact that it is a simple but elegant pattern, that you can make for that special man in your life. It’s not too intricate or complicated. I find that sometimes a repetitive pattern is just what I need to chill out and relax.

The pattern

Level: Easy

Notes: I will be writing in US terms

Materials:

3 skeins of James C Brett’s “TUSCANY” chunky yarn in colour TU1

6.5 mm hook

Pair of scissors

Tapestry needle (to weave in ends)

Abbreviations:

Sl st : slip stitch

SC : Single crochet (UK double)

DC : Double crochet (UK Treble)

Ch : chain

Begin pattern here:

Make a slip knot, and chain 26

Complete rows as follows:

1 :SC in 2nd ch from the hook; *DC in next ch, SC in next ch*; repeat from * to the end of the row.

2 : Turn your work; ch 3 (counts as our first DC); *SC in next stitch, DC in next stitch*; repeat from * to the end of the row.

3 : Turn your work, ch 1 (counts as our first SC); *DC in next stitch, SC in next stitch; repeat from * to the end of the row. 

4+ : Repeat rows 2 and 3 until the scarf measures approximately 160 cm/64 inches (or as long as you want it to be).

Fasten off, tidy up all loose ends.
