Crochet Blush Rose Vintage Shawl Free Pattern: The Yarn
The Blush Rose Shawl is part of my Vintage Crochet Series. This lovely and delicate new design is perfect in all seasons. Today I crocheted this design with one of my favorite yarns, called Sirdar Number 1 DK yarn. This yarn is very soft and is made from 50% acrylic and 50% nylon.
The Madeleine Vintage Shawl features this beautiful yarn in a darker shade. I really love using this yarn for my projects, and I hope you do too. It is very easy to crochet with this yarn too. This yarn is very elegant and easy to work with, making it perfect for shawls and wraps.

Crochet Blush Rose Vintage Shawl Free Pattern: A Vintage Crochet Design
This new crochet design is part of my Vintage Crochet Series. Indeed, I was inspired to crochet this simple yet feminine shawl after watching the BBC miniseries Les Miserables from 2018. I really loved this newest adaptation of my favorite book by Victor Hugo.

In episode 2, Fantine is seen walking around at night wearing a beautiful blush color shawl. This lovely shawl is so simple and features a V shape and elegant shape. I really loved this so much, and thought I would create a similar blush pink wrap. Let me know in the comments if you enjoy crocheting Vintage Crochet designs! I would love to know.
Victor Hugo is my favorite author in the whole world. I love the book Les Miserables so much, and I have created many shawls inspired by his work and the Romantic Era. The Romantic Era (in French Periode Romantique) is an artistic and intellectual period going from 1820 to 1850.

Crochet Blush Rose Vintage Shawl Free Pattern: More Romantic Shawls
As I stated prior, I have crocheted many shawls and wraps inspired by Victor Hugo. The Fantine Shawl is also inspired by my favorite book, and my favorite character within this book. The Cosette Shawl (available on the blog also) is also inspired by this book, of course. Both theses shawls are some of my favorite projects to date.
If you have a look on my Vintage Crochet Series tab in the menu, you will have a lot of crochet patterns to choose from!

Pattern
To start, make a slip knot.
1: Ch 5, HDC into 3rd chain from hook, HDC into next 2 st, 2 HDC into last chain.
2: Ch.2 (counts as your 1st HDC), turn your work, HDC into same 1st stitch (=2 HDC together), HDC into each st along, 2 HDC into last st.
3-79: Repeat row 2.
Do not fasten off.
Double Loop Edging
For this part you will be placing the 3 rows of the double loop edging across the 2 longer sides of the shawl that form the V shape.
Row 1:
Ch 1 (=turning chain), turn your work, place a SC into 1st stitch; place 141 SC across the first side of the V of the shawl.
Please make sure that you are placing these SC evenly across this edge as this is the row side of the stitches (so there will not be a clear stitch into which you will be placing your stitches).
Once you reach to top of the shawl (the point at the top of the V), turn your project so as to work 141 stitches across the second side of the edging.
Row 2:
Ch 5, turn your work, skip 3 SC, place a SC into next SC; [ch 5, skip 3 SC, SC into next SC] until eor. Please do this onto both sides of the V of the shawl with no interruption.

Row 3: Ch 7, turn your work, skip the ch 5 from previous row, place a SC into the next SC from previous row; [ch 7, skip the ch 5 from previous row, SC into next SC from previous row] until eor.
