Crochet Classic Red French Beret Free Pattern

Hi everyone, this week I am bringing to you this Crochet Classic Red French Beret (Free Pattern). This crochet beret is so pretty and has a very Parisian vibe. It is inspired by the classic traditional French beret design. It can be dressed up or dressed down, and is also a very fast crochet project to make!

The video tutorial for this project can be found here:

I love traditional French berets. I have crocheted a few different versions over the past few years, including two Winter versions, and lighter Spring/Summer designs. If you are looking for a warmer beret, you can check out this warm chunky beret that I actually designed and made when I traveled back to my home country France. I am originally from the French Alps, where it gets really cold! So warm berets and hats are a must! I also designed this super warm and super chunky Fleur De Lys beret a month ago. I love how lovely and warm these berets are!

For this new beret design, I wanted to create a design that could be worn in all seasons. Therefore, this new beret design is perfect for both the colder and warmer weather. It can also be very easily adapted in any color that you prefer! I chose red as I wanted to break away a little from all the pastel colors I have been crocheting with recently. Indeed, I fancied a change. Last week I released the easy and feminine infinity scarf.

If you are looking for a more Spring/Summer beret design, you can have a look at either one of these two beret designs. The traditional French Spring Beret has been a huge success on both my blog and Youtube. It’s so feminine and perfect for the warmer weather. You can also find this easy and fun traditional beret that I made last September. This crochet beret is also lightweight, and also uses Caron Simply Soft yarn (one of my favorite yarns).

For this crochet beret, I used one of my all time favorite yarns. I used Caron Simply Soft yarn, which is so soft and lovely to work with. Indeed, I have crocheted many items with this yarn. The Sweet Sixteen Crochet Bag is made with Caron Simply Soft yarn in shade Victorian Rose. I also crocheted one of my most popular crochet design with Caron Simply Soft: The Perfectly Pretty Pocket Shawl is made with a lovely baby blue color from the Simply Soft range.

This yarn is so soft and nice to work with. It is 100% acrylic and comes in lots of different shades. I also crocheted a Regency Era Shawl with this yarn, and it is still one of my favorite projects! Let me know if you enjoy working with Caron Simply Soft yarn too.
