Today, I would like to share this delicate bandana worked in the classic granny stitch and finished with a pretty shell stitch edging. The combination of the open granny pattern and the scalloped border creates a light and feminine design that drapes beautifully. I chose a soft coral-pink cotton yarn, which gives the piece a fresh and romantic feel, but this pattern would look lovely in neutrals, pastels, or even vibrant summer shades.
Indeed, for this project I decided to use Coboo yarn by Lion Brand, in shade Peach. I love this yarn so much, especially for Spring and Summer makes. This yarn is made from 51% cotton and 49% rayon from bamboo, and it is so soft and perfect too! I crocheted this lovely and feminine hair bow, that was a super popular crochet design with my audience.
Crochet Dainty Bandana Free Pattern: A Perfect Granny Stitch Design
The granny stitch is one of the most recognizable crochet techniques, and for good reason. It works up quickly, has a lovely airy texture, and is wonderfully relaxing to crochet. For this project, the bandana is shaped into a triangle by increasing gradually on each row while maintaining the traditional granny stitch pattern. A 5 mm crochet hook

To begin
To start, make a slip knot.
Ch 4, sl st through 1st chain to form a ring.
1: Ch 4 (=DC + ch space), 3 DC in the circle; ch 1, 1 DC in the circle.
2: ch 4 (1 DC + ch space), turn your work; place 3 DC inside next sp; ch 1, 3 DC, ch 1, 1 DC in next (and last) sp.
3: Ch 4 (1 DC +ch space), turn your work, place 3 DC in next sp; ch 1, 3 DC in next sp; ch 1, 3 DC, ch 1, 1 DC in next (and last) sp.
4: Ch 4 (=1 DC + ch 1 sp), turn your work, place 3 DC in next space; [ch 1, 3 DC in next sp] 2 x; ch 1, 3 DC, ch 1, 1 DC in next (and last) sp.
5: Ch 4 (=1 DC + ch 1 sp), turn your work, place 3 DC in next space; [ch 1, 3 DC in next sp] 3 x; ch 1, 3 DC, ch 1, 1 DC in next (and last) sp.

8: Ch 4 (=1 DC + ch 1 sp), turn your work, place 3 DC in next space; [ch 1, 3 DC in next sp] 6 x; ch 1, 3 DC, ch 1, 1 DC in next (and last) sp.
9: Ch 4 (=1 DC + ch 1 sp), turn your work, place 3 DC in next space; [ch 1, 3 DC in next sp] 7 x; ch 1, 3 DC, ch 1, 1 DC in next (and last) sp.

Repeat pattern until you have 17 rows in total.
Do not fasten off.
Create 1st tie
With yarn still attached to the bandana, create the first tie.
Chain 45, skip 1st chain and slip stitch through 2nd and every chain across. Once you have reached the end of the chain, sl st through the Double Crochet on the side of the bandana to secure strap fully onto project.
Do not fasten off.
Create a Single Crochet Edging
Once you have finished your first tie, place a Single Crochet edging across all 3 sides of the bandana.
Row 1: Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), Single Crochet across the first side of the bandana (the “straight” side); once you have finished crocheting your SCs, do not fasten off as we will be creating the second tie now.
Create 2nd tie
Chain 45, skip 1st chain and slip stitch through 2nd and every chain across. Once you have reached the end of the chain, sl st through the Double Crochet on the side of the bandana to secure strap fully onto project.
Do not fasten off as we are continuing our border.
Row 1: Now place SCs across the “V” sides of the bandana; for this part, you will need to place a number of SCs that are a multiple of 5. Place 3 SCs at the very top of the “V”, before carrying on crocheting your SCs across the second side.
Row 2: Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), [sk 2 stitches, place 5 DCs into next stitch, sk 2 stitches, place a SC into next stitch] until you reach the end of both sides of the “V”.
Fasten off, tidy up all loose ends.
