Crochet Dainty Knot Winter Headband Free Pattern

Hi everyone, today I am bringing to you the crochet Dainty knot winter headband (free pattern). This crochet headband is perfect for the colder months, and can be made by complete beginners too. Crocheted with aran weight yarn, this winter headband is very demure and pretty!

The video tutorial can be found here:

Crochet Dainty Knot Winter Headband Free Pattern: A Winter Accessory

This winter headband is a perfect staple for the colder months. Last year, I crocheted a a very similar headband. This crochet headband from last year is made using chunky yarn. Today, I am bringing to you a similar project, but using aran weight yarn instead.

I crocheted this pink headband using a lovely yarn called Wendy Supreme Aran in shade Baby Pink. This color is so pretty, and perfect for the darker months where a little pop of color is so important. Featuring a simple two row repeat pattern, this headband is very dainty and can be customizable easily too.

This headband is so feminine!

This delicate twist headband is also a great feminine accessory for the colder months. It also features the same textured stitch. I love this stitch so much as it is an easy and fun way to add texture to an otherwise simple design.

This crochet headband is feminine and delicate. The color is also very demure, however you can change the color if you want (and this can give a completely different vibe). This preppy hair bow is also made with this pretty yarn! It is also a simple yet very delicate accessory that is easy and fast to crochet.

A winter headband is not only indispensable for the colder months, it also makes a great crochet gift. With Christmas coming up, we definitely need lots of ideas for handmade gifts. These gifts are always very appreciated; let me know in the comments which crochet projects you will be making for Christmas.

This textured man scarf I made a few weeks ago is also perfect for a Christmas gift. It is beautiful and such a great make for that special man in your life!

To start, make a slip knot.

Ch. 61

1: HDC in 3rd chain from the hook, HDC into each ch until end of row (first ch 2 counts as a HDC).

2: Ch 1 (=turning chain throughout), turn your work, HDC into front facing loop of the bottom of each HDC from previous row (see photo below for more details) until eor.

Rows 4-11: Alternate rows 2 and 3.
Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew both ends of project to create ear warmer.

Project
Project

Sew your headband together:

Place your project flat with the right side facing you (the knit stitch), and fold in two lengthwise (see photo below).

Fold project in half
Fold project in half

Make sure project is neatly folded, then fold the two sides of your project to create a centre fold. Take one side and twist it so that it creates a twist on one side.

Once this is done, take both sides and place them facing you, and slide each side into the opposite side.

You now have four layers to stitch together.

With tapestry needle and loose end, sew these layers together securely. You can sew this seam in twice if you wish (I did).

Create a knot once you have finished seaming the project, fasten off and tidy up all loose ends.
