Crochet Delicate Snood Free Pattern: The Inspiration

I love crocheting snoods and scarves, as they are so perfect for the colder months. Indeed, I recently recreated The Wednesday Inspired snood, which was a highly requested pattern. I love this crochet snood so much, and it has been a very popular project.

This is a great project for beginners

Scarves, cowls and snoods are such relaxing projects to make. If you are looking for a man scarf, you can look at this elegant man scarf I crocheted a few weeks ago. This crochet scarf features two different stitches, and is a very masculine crochet scarf you can make for that special man in your life. You can also make this easy man scarf too, which features a knit look stitch.

I also love feminine scarf patterns too. You can find The Pink Ballerina Infinity Scarf on my blog. This is a great crochet project featuring the V stitch. If you prefer a simpler crochet scarf, the Jade Pool Scarf will be the perfect project for you.

Crochet Delicate Snood Free Pattern: The Design

The design for this scarf is very simple. Indeed, this feminine snood features a simple pattern made from rows of Double Crochets. I love how you can wrap this delicate snood around your head for extra warmth.

This crochet snood is made using Drops Air yarn. I absolutely love this yarn, as it so soft and delicate. Indeed, I used this yarn for quite a few project recently, including this delicate twist headband which actually matches this snood perfectly. I also crocheted The Gentle Rose Cocoon Cardigan with this yarn a few weeks ago also.

I love this simple design

I have to admit this yarn has fast become one of my favorites. Indeed, this yarn is very soft, delicate, light weight and warm. The composition of this yarn is as follows: 28% polyamide, 7% wool, 65% alpaca. I love how soft and lightweight it is. This makes this yarn perfect for delicate Winter accessories.

Let me know if you crochet this new snood design. I always love to hear about your projects.

You will need

3 skeins of Drops Air in shade 08 Light Pink

9 mm crochet hook

A pair of scissors

A tapestry needle

Abbreviations

Ch: chain

St: Stitch

Sl st: slip stitch

Sk: Skip

DC: Double crochet (UK Treble Crochet)

EOR: End of row

To begin

For this project, you will be using 2 strands of yarn at the same time throughout. Every time you switch colors, make sure you are using 2 strands of the next color throughout.

To start, using 2 strands of yarn, make a slip knot.

Ch 118

Row 1: Place a DC into 4th ch from hook and into each ch across until eor.

Row 2: Ch 3 (=DC), turn your work. Place a DC into each DC from previous row until eor (remember to place a DC into last ch 3 from previous row).

Row 3-9: Repeat row 2.

Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing the snood together.

Sew in your snood

Place your project on a flat surface, and fold in half so that both ends of the scarf are touching. Once both ends of the project are symmetrically placed one on top of the other, place your tapestry needle onto your loose end. Now sew your project together using the mattress seam.

Once this is done, fasten off, and tidy up all loose ends.
