Crochet Easy Cocoon Cardigan Free Pattern
Crochet Easy Cocoon Cardigan Free Pattern
Hi everyone, this week I am bringing to you this crochet easy cocoon cardigan free pattern. I love this project so much! It was such a fun project to make, and so perfect for Autumn/Winter. It is inspired by an older project I crocheted a few years ago, The Red Velvet Cardigan. I loved making The Red Velvet Cardigan a few years ago, and it was really popular at the time. Therefore, I decided now was the time to make a newer, updated version of it.
The video tutorial for this project can be found here:
Crochet Easy Cocoon Cardigan Free Pattern: The Inspiration
The inspiration for this project came from an older pattern, as mentioned above. The Red Velvet Cardigan is such a wonderful Autumn Winter staple. I really wanted to recreate a newer version of it.
For this new version, I made the pattern inclusive. Indeed, this crochet pattern comes in sizes S to XXXL. Therefore it is very inclusive and everyone can make it. You can find all the different sizes for this project indicated below. I myself crocheted size S, which is the size I made for the video tutorial. However, you can easily follow along my tutorial whilst still making another size. You will just need to follow the written pattern a little more closely.
I love how beautiful and cozy this crochet cardigan looks. If you are looking for more crochet cardigans, you can check out The Coconut Cream Cardigan. This easy crochet project from last year is super warm and is made with Caron Latte Cakes. I also recommend The Sweet Dreams Hexagon Cardigan, as it has been super successful since I released this pattern last year.
If you are looking for more cocoon cardigans, you can check out The Beautiful Rose Shrug. All these patterns are free on my blog, and feature a full length video tutorial too.
Crochet Easy Cocoon Cardigan Free Pattern: The Yarn
For this project, I used Caron Cake in shade Red Velvet. I also used Stylecraft Special Aran in shade Lipstick. These yarns are so beautiful, and match perfectly. They are both a medium size yarn, meaning they are of a worsted/aran weight. This makes them easy and fast to work with. I love working with this type of yarn as it makes for an elegant yet warm project.
If you are looking for projects crocheted with Aran weight yarns, you can have a look at The Lavender Hooded Pocket Shawl. This is a great project for beginners, which is also perfect for the chillier months.
You can also have a look at The Kitty Cat Cardigan, which is such a fun crochet project to make. Indeed, this cardigan features a simple V stitch pattern, as well as cute cat pockets. This project is crocheted with Aran weight yarn.
I hope you enjoy this simple and fun tutorial. Let me know in the comments if you make this project.
