Crochet Easy & Feminine Cardigan: the inspiration

I was inspired to crochet this cardigan after browsing the Free People website. Indeed, I am a huge fan of Free People, and living in the UK it is quite hard to find a store by this brand. So I do love to browse their international website looking for clothes. I spotted their Glow For It cardigan in shade cream, and instantly fell in love. However, it was sold out!

This is a very beginner friendly project

So this is when I decided to create my own crochet version. I love the simplicity and Summer vibes of the Free People version. I therefore decided to keep the stitch extra simple too.

This cardigan comes in a multitude of colours, and seems extremely popular.

Crochet Easy & Feminine Cardigan: the pattern

This pattern is super easy as it is created by simple rows of Half Double Crochets. The structure of the cardigan is very simple too. I absolutely love how it turned out, and I do hope you do too!

The best part is it is very accessible to the absolute beginner. I created it just by looking at the Free People version photos, and I am quite happy how it turned out. So if you are an absolute beginner, please don’t be afraid! You will have no trouble crocheting this garment whatsoever.

Let me know in the comments what you thought of this project, I love to have your feed back!

To sew your cardigan together :

With wrong side facing still, sew your sleeves up. Do not turn inside out yet.

With wrong side facing, place your back panel onto a flat surface. Place your 2 front panels symmetrically, start sewing the shoulder seams. Once this is done, sew your sleeves onto each side of the cardigan. Make sure the seam of each sleeve is facing down.

Carry on sewing your cardigan down the two sides.

Fasten off and tidy up all loose ends.
