Crochet Picot Edging Free Pattern
Hi everyone, today I am bringing you this crochet picot edging free pattern. I have been fascinated by picot edgings for a long time now. Indeed, I always think that picot edgings just add so much more interest to an otherwise simple project. A picot edging not only elevates a pattern, it also adds a very vintage feel to it.

Crochet Picot Edging Free Pattern: The Inspiration
As I stated before, picot edgings have always been a favorite of mine. I have always thought that picot edgings add a very vintage and elevated vibe to a project. Picot edgings add a classic and beautiful detail to any project. I love this type of border and know that I will be using the picot edging extensively going forward.
Last week, I released the Josephine Vintage Shawl. Part of my Vintage Crochet Series, this shawl is both elegant and dainty. It features a filet crochet design and a picot edging. To say that I love the effect of this delicate edging is an understatement.
The Picot detail just adds a lot of class to any accessory. I can see myself crocheting a lot of different projects over the Summer just to use this timeless and classic edging to them. Indeed, headbands, scrunchies and shawls will all be crocheted in order to be able to add this border! Let me know in the comments if you are as excited as I am!

Crochet Picot Edging Free Pattern: A Versatile Design
The beauty of the picot edging is that it can be crocheted in a variety of ways. In this new picot edging pattern, I will be using one way of crocheting this delicate border. However, this edging can be adapted and crocheted in lots of different variations too.
For example, instead of spacing them out as I did (leaving two stitched between each picot), these picots can be separated by one or more stitches. They can be added or decreased depending on your taste. The picot edging can also be added in a more lacy way, rather than as a “block” as I have done here.
I actually cannot wait to crochet a more delicate and lacy version of the picot edging. Let me know in the comments what you think of this idea.

Attach your yarn to one edge of your project, where you want to crochet your picot edging.
Row 1: ch 1 (=TC), place a SC into every stitch across until eor.

Round 2: Ch 1 (=TC), turn your work, [place a SC into the next 3 stitches; chain 3, slip stitch to the front loops of the SC to secure picot] until eor.
