Crochet Romantic Rose Shawl Free Pattern

Hi everyone, today I am bringing to you this crochet Romantic Rose shawl (free pattern). There is something wonderfully romantic about a soft pink crochet shawl. Delicate, feminine and timeless, this vintage-inspired design is the kind of piece that feels as though it could have come straight from an Edwardian wardrobe. I wanted to create a shawl with an old-fashioned character while keeping the design simple enough to wear every day.Β

The video tutorial can be found here:

Crochet Romantic Rose Shawl Free Pattern: A Vintage Rose Pink Color

The color is one of my favorite things about this shawl. This soft dusty rose pink gives the finished piece a wonderfully delicate and nostalgic appearance. Paired with the vintage-inspired design, it creates a feminine accessory that feels both elegant and charming. For this crochet shawl, I used the beautiful Loops & Threads Luxe Merino yarn in a soft vintage rose pink.Β The Vintage Rose Lace Shawl from a few weeks ago has a very similar vibe.

This crochet shawl is so delicate

The shawl has a lovely drape and can be worn loosely around the shoulders, wrapped around the neck or allowed to fall naturally down the back. I particularly love the way the longer ends hang down when the shawl is worn over a simple top or dress. The texture comes from a pretty repeating crochet stitch that gives the fabric plenty of interest without making the design feel too complicated.

Crochet Romantic Rose Shawl Free Pattern: A Delicate Scalloped Edging

From a distance, the stitch work looks almost lace-like, while up close you can see the beautiful little details created by the crochet stitches. To finish the shawl, I added a soft scalloped edging. The gentle curves along the bottom create just enough decoration to give the piece that romantic vintage character without overwhelming the main stitch pattern. I think this kind of edging is particularly lovely on shawls because it follows the natural shape of the fabric and gives the finished piece a pretty, feminine silhouette.

The rounded edge also adds a handmade, heirloom quality to the design, making the shawl feel like something that could be treasured and worn for many years. This lacy vintage mesh shawl also features a lovely and feminine shell stitch edging, and it is also part of myΒ Vintage Crochet Series.

Crochet Romantic Rose Shawl Free Pattern: How to Wear this Delicate Shawl

This is such a versatile accessory despite its romantic appearance. It looks beautiful over a simple knitted jumper during the cooler months, but it can also be worn over a blouse, dress or camisole when you want something a little more delicate. For a vintage-inspired outfit, I love the idea of pairing the pink shawl with a cream or ivory blouse, a long skirt and delicate jewellery.

For something more modern, it works just as beautifully with jeans and a simple fitted top. The soft pink also makes it particularly easy to combine with neutral colours such as cream, white, beige and grey.

Crochet Romantic Rose Shawl Free Pattern:Β A Crochet Project for Vintage Lovers

you love vintage crochet, romantic fashion and delicate handmade accessories, this shawl would make a beautiful addition to your wardrobe. There is something especially satisfying about crocheting a large wearable piece like this. Row by row, the texture gradually develops until you have a beautiful shawl that you can wrap around yourself and enjoy for years to come.Β

The soft pink color, delicate texture and scalloped edge give it a romantic appearance, while its simple shape makes it wonderfully practical. Whether you wear it draped over your shoulders at home, wrapped around you on a cool evening or styled with a vintage-inspired outfit, it is a lovely way to add a little handmade elegance to an everyday look. And, as with so many crochet pieces, there is something very special about knowing that every stitch was made by hand. This romantic vintage-inspired pink crochet shawl is a feminine, timeless accessory that combines beautiful texture with an elegant, old-fashioned charm. It is the perfect project for anyone who loves delicate crochet and romantic vintage style.

Pattern

To begin, create a slip knot.

Ch 244

1: HDC in 3rd chain from the hook, HDC into each ch until end of row (first ch 2 counts as a HDC).

2: Ch 2 (=HDC), turn your work, HDC into the next HDC until eor.

2-23: Repeat row 2.

Do not fasten off.

We will now be crocheting the V stitch part of the shawl.

24: Ch 3 (=DC), turn your work, * skip next stitch, place a DC, ch 1, DC into the next stitch * until you reach the last two stitches; skip penultimate stitch, and place a DC into the last stitch.

25: Ch 3 (=DC), turn your work, place a V stitch (DC, ch 1, DC) into each V stitch from the previous row, place a DC into the last stitch.

26-38: Repeat row 25.

Do not fasten off.

Lovely edging border

We will be crocheting the border with the yarn that is still attached to project (as we did not fasten off).

Note: we will be placing SCs on the first side of the shawl, before turning the project to work our SCs on the Half Double Crochet side of the shawl (the initial chain of the project). Once you have placed your SCs on this side, turn your work to place SCs along the second side of the shawl, before we reach the V stitch side where we will be placing our shell stitch edging.

1: Ch 1 (=does not count as a stitch), and place SCs all along the first β€œside” of the wrap; once you reach the corner, place 2 SCs together before turning your project sideways and placing SCs all along the second β€œside” of the wrap.

Repeat this process of placing SCs on the third β€œside” of the shawl, before turning your work to place your shell stitch edging on the V stitch side of the project.

Shell stitch edging: ch 1 (does not count as stitch), turn your work, place a SC into the first stitch, * place 5 DC into the first V stitch (first shell stitch), place a SC into the next V stitch * repeat from * until * until you reach the last stitch, where you will finish with a SC.

Fasten off, tidy up all loose ends.
