Crochet Soft Fluffy Cowl

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a lovely week so far! Today I am bringing to you the Crochet Soft Fluffy Cowl.

Yesterday was my little baby boy’s first birthday, so in honour of this I decided to finish and film the project I was working in on when I went into labour, and never had the chance to finish. Indeed, on the 27th of January 2019 at 1 AM I lost my waters, but was not in active labour at all, so I was sent home to wait to either go into labour naturally, or be induced.

Only one skein of yarn is needed for this project

A very special project

This is when I started crocheting this beautiful and fluffy winter cowl, which is so special to me now.

So to get back to my labour story, when I got home for the long wait ahead, I had no crochet project that I was working on. So decided to start a project which could be made in a couple of hours, as I didn’t know how long it would take before baby was here (turns out it took over another two days, which were spent mostly in a blur in the hospital).

However, I did start and almost finish this gorgeous fluffy cowl at home, crocheted with the lovely Sirdar Soft Touch yarn in shade Flutter (013). I didn’t finish it because on that fateful day we had to go back to the hospital in a rush, and I completely forgot where I had put this project afterwards (baby brain I assume!).

One year ago in January 2019

I didn’t really think back to this cowl until I moved 8 weeks ago, and stumbled upon it. It was such a strange feeling to see this unfinished project when the rest of my life had changed so much, and so I decided I may well finish it at some point.

Fast forward to last week when I thought about it being almost a year since giving birth, and how it would be lovely to finish and film this quick and easy project. So voilΓ , here it is my dear crochet friends, and I hope you enjoy this gorgeous winter project!

This cowl is so soft and fluffy

Such an emotional project

I cannot believe this cowl was started a year ago, it seems like yesterday and yet so far away, a lifetime away… To be honest, I am so proud of my little boy. He is so good and such a clever, affectionate and sociable person already, and he makes me so happy!

I now have this cowl to remind me of the special day when I started labour, and which brought me closer to meeting the love of my life, my little boy, who is truly my treasure and my heart.

Let me know what you think of this project, and until next week, lot of love my crochet family,

Xoxo, Selina.
