Crochet Soft Dreams Poncho Free Pattern

Hi everyone, this week I am bringing to you a tutorial on how to crochet The Soft Dreams Poncho free pattern. This is a super easy project to make, and features a lovely feminine design. I used one skein of Caron Latte Cake for this project. It is a beautiful and therapeutic poncho to make, and very warm and cozy for the colder months.

The video tutorial can be found here:

Crochet Soft Dreams Poncho Free Pattern: the inspiration

I had wanted to crochet this exact poncho for a long time now. If you follow me on Social Media, you will know that I have been extremely busy these past weeks. I have has to travel all the way to France for a few weeks in December, which was amazing, but tiring! When I got home, I had a lot to deal with in the new year, all the whilst looking after my two year old on my own. So it’s been a very beginning of year. I can now honestly say that things are settling down a bit, and I can go back to my normal routine once again. My gorgeous baby boy is back at nursery three days a week, and I can work during this time.

I love this soft yarn

This idea of an elegant poncho worked in the rounds has been in my mind for a long time. However, I always had other projects taking priority over this one somehow. Last week, I felt quite drained and frankly, I did not know what project to film for this week’s video that I could manage on very limited time. I thought of this shawl that I had wanted to make for so long, took out my camera on Thursday afternoon, and started filming. And voila, here is my new poncho that I absolutely love!

This is an elegant and feminine crochet project

I used Caron Latte Cake for this project. As you know, I absolutely adore Caron Latte Cakes. In fact, last month I crocheted the Coconut Cream Cardigan with this yarn, but in a different shade. The cardigan has been a huge success, which is amazing! I am in love with both these projects crocheted with this beautiful yarn. I love the soft fluffiness of Caron Latte Cakes. This yarn is so cozy and yet so soft, as it is made with 100% acrylic. This is perfect if you are allergic to wool but want the texture of Mohair.

This yarn comes in many different shades, and I have to say I love them all! I have just started creating a headband with what is left from my skein of yarn, and I am hoping to release this headband tutorial maybe next week. Hopefully my busy schedule will plateau and I can make some progress on more crochet projects. I have so many crochet projects in the works, I think I just need to organize them so as to be able to share them all with you.

This pattern is one of my favorite

I also wanted to share a past project that I crocheted using this exact yarn. The Soft Fluffy Scarf is a project I made in January 2020, and is still in perfect condition to this day. Remembering this scarf makes me want to wear it again. I hope you enjoy this fun and easy project using Caron Latte Cake in the same shade as this poncho (shade Plum Fresh).

Crochet Soft Dreams Poncho Free Pattern: the design

As stated previously, this design has been in my mind for a long time. I wanted to create a top down crochet project, making a feminine and flattering poncho in the rounds. This project is perfect if you do not enjoy sewing, and it works up very fast using minimal yarn.

This pattern comes in sizes S to XXXL

The “rounded” shape is very flattering, and looks lovely on every body shape. This design is inclusive and comes in many sizes, from size S to XXXL. Please check out the free pattern below to choose which size you would like to crochet. A feminine and dainty shell stitch edging adorns the bottom of this poncho, adding extra elegance to this crochet garment.

I hope you enjoy this crochet tutorial, please do let me know in the comments section of this article. In the meantime, I hope you have a lovely week, lots of love,

Xoxo Selina.
