Crochet Summer Pink Poncho
Crochet Summer Pink Poncho
Hi everyone! I hope you are well, today I am bringing to you a new project, for the Crochet Summer Pink Poncho. This crochet project is really fun and easy to make. It is made out of 2 simple rectangles that a later stitched together to create this beautiful poncho.
The video tutorial for this project can be found here:
Crochet Summer Pink Poncho: the inspiration
This crochet summer poncho has been a highly requested project on my channel for a long time. I love ponchos, but I needed to find the exact perfect yarn to crochet a new version of a Summer poncho. I finally came across Lion Brand Coboo yarn in shade Pale Pink, and I knew this was going to be perfect for what I had in mind. This beautiful yarn is made of 50% cotton, and 50% bamboo. It is so soft and a dream to crochet. I love it, especially for Summer projects.
Also, I found that a little of this yarn went a long way. For my size S/M poncho, I only used 3 skeins. This is also a great bonus point, as it is always nice to crochet a beautiful project without breaking the bank!
Have you ever used Lion Brand Coboo yarn? I love it, and know I will be crocheting with it again very soon.
I already created a poncho last Summer, you can find it here. Called The Natalia Poncho, this is also a great crochet project to make.
Crochet Summer Pink Poncho: a very easy crochet project
This crochet pattern is very easy to crochet. Firstly, two rectangles need to be crocheted individually, before they are stitched together. The pattern is very easy to follow, consisting of simple pattern repeats that are very therapeutic. This creates a beautiful filet crochet pattern that looks lovely for Summer. I love simple pattern repeats, as they are particularly relaxing to crochet. This Summer crochet pattern is perfect for this coming season.
This crochet poncho looks light and airy, and is very feminine. It’s elegance resides in it’s simplicity.
Once both rectangles have been sewed together, we will then add a chain arch edging. This border is one of my favorites and always looks so lovely. We will also add a quick and simple row of single crochets along the edge of the neck of this poncho.
This crochet pattern is very inclusive. It comes in sizes S to 5XL, and looks beautiful on everyone.
I hope you enjoy this simple yet gorgeous project, let me know in the comments if you make it.

To sew your poncho together
Place one rectangle lengthwise, and the other one widthwise so as to form an L shape. The longer side of your 1st rectangle should match up to the smaller side of your second rectangle.
Sew this length together using your tapestry needle and long tail. Attach a new piece of yarn to one corner of the project if you cannot use your tail.
Once this stage is completed, place the other ends of your rectangles in such a way that the long side of one rectangle matches up with the longer side of the other rectangle. This should close up your pattern together. You can now sew this side up too.
If you need more help with this stage of the pattern, please refer to my in depth video tutorial. This video tutorial is available on my Youtube channel. The link to it can be found on my blog post for this project.
Neck Edging
Fasten on yarn. Ch 1, and place SC all along the neck edging at equal intervals. Make sure you do not place too many, as it is better to have a βtighterβ neck edging. Sl st to first ch 1, fasten off.
Chain arch border
Now we will be placing a chain arch border all around the bottom edge of this poncho as follows.
Attach yarn to any stitch at the bottom of the poncho.
Row 1: Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), SC into each stitch around until you reach the first ch 1; sl stitch to close off round.
Row 2: [Ch 3, sk 1 stitch, SC into next st] until eor.
Fasten off, tidy up all loose ends.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!
Xoxo Selina.
