Crochet Super Chunky Baby Blanket Free Pattern: The Inspiration
The inspiration for this baby blanket comes from my little boy. Indeed, although he is no longer a baby, he loves soft yarns. The yarn I used for this project is Flutterby Huggable Super Chunky yarn, and I had two balls of this yarn in my stash for longer than I like to admit! My little boy has been asking me for months now to crochet him a little snuggly blanket or project with this yarn, and I finally decided now was the time to do it.
A few years ago, I made this super chunky hand crocheted blanket, which is similar to this project. I am looking to crochet a newer version of this hand crocheted blanket to be honest. Initially I thought this yarn (Flutterby Huggable Super Chunky) would be perfect for a finger/hand crochet blanket. However, I decided to use a very large hook for this yarn as it just looked nicer once crocheted! I think I need to buy a much bulkier yarn for a hand crocheted blanket.
Let me know if you enjoy these super chunky blanket tutorial! I love them so much, and am now on the lookout for a yarn that is bulky enough to be hand crocheted.
Crochet Super Chunky Baby Blanket Free Pattern: A Fast Project
If you are looking for a fast yet stunning baby blanket, this may be just what you are looking for! I managed to make this blanket in just under two hours. This is therefore a great tutorial to follow if you need a baby blanket but don’t have days in front of you to crochet it.
Indeed, this classic vintage inspired baby blanket is perfect if you are looking for the classic granny square design. It is made with DK/light 3 yarn, and is so stunning once finished. It is also the perfect gift for a baby.
For this project, I used a 15 mm crochet hook. This was the first time I used such a large hook, and I really enjoyed it! It was a lot easier than I initially thought it would be to use, and it was also a lot of fun to see my project unfold so fast. I will definitely be using this size hook again. As for the yarn (Flutterby Huggable Super Chunky), it was a lot of fun to use also. I will be using this yarn again, so please let me know what type of project you would like to see me make with this yarn.
