Crochet The Delicate Rose Headband Pattern
Crochet The Delicate Rose Headband Pattern
Hi everyone, this week I am bringing to you The Delicate Rose Headband Pattern. This is a super feminine and easy crochet project, which looks so pretty and delicate. It is crocheted using a simple knit like crochet pattern, which is explained in great detail below. It is perfect for the colder months, and is super warm in 100% Merino yarn.
The video tutorial can be found here:
Crochet The Delicate Rose Headband Pattern: the inspiration
I love really warm headbands/ear warmers as I get really cold ears in the Winter. I had wanted to crochet a super chunky, yet delicate headband for a long time. When I came across King Cole’s Rosarium yarn, I knew it was perfect for this new project. This yarn can be substituted with Mayflower Molly yarn, which is very similar and also 100% Merino.
For this headband, I wanted to use a knit like stitch, as I find that this type of stitch looks very elegant on a simple headband. The mix of a knit like stitch and super chunky yarn is stunning. For this project, I also used a 12 mm crochet hook, as I wanted a tightly woven project. Do you love super chunky headbands too?
I used this knit like stitch for my recent easy man scarf tutorial. This crochet project was a success. This new crochet man scarf is perfect if you are looking to make a quick and elegant crochet present for a loved one this Christmas. I do love a cozy project, and Winter crochet is perfect for these!
Crochet The Delicate Rose Headband Pattern: Merino yarn
I love Merino yarn for Winter headbands and hats. I used 100% Merino yarn last year when I crocheted the easy twist headband. This is to date one of my favorite crochet projects, and I have worn mine so much since last year! I do love headbands, as I have long hair and headbands are so handy to wear when it’s cold. They also make perfect Christmas presents, which is why it’s good to have a variety of patterns.
This crochet project was made in less than an hour for me, so it a very good pattern if you are looking for a quick yet gorgeous crochet project to make. Let me know if you enjoy making these projects as much as I do!

Sk: skip
SP: space
Sl st: Slip stitch
HDC: Half Double Crochet
EOR: End of row
Pattern begins here:
To begin make a slip knot
Ch 33
Row 1: HDC in 3rd chain from the hook, HDC into each ch until end of row (first ch 2 counts as a HDC)
Row 2: Ch 1 (=turning chain throughout), turn your work, HDC into front facing loop of the bottom of each HDC from previous row (see photo below for more details) until eor, placing your last stitch into the ch 2 from previous row. This front facing loop is not one of the 2 loops at the top of each stitch, but this is the loop which is at the bottom front of the stitch.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn your work, HDC into the back loop only of each HDC until eor (see photo).
Row 4: Ch 1 (=turning chain), turn your work, HDC into front facing loop of the bottom of each HDC from previous row until eor.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Sewing project together
Place your project on a flat surface, wrong side facing (meaning not the side of the knit stitches).
Fold both ends together symmetrically and sew the seam in using the mattress stitch.
Fasten off, sew in all loose ends. Turn project inside out so that the knit stitch is visible when wearing.
