In this video I break down every detail of this hairband. It’s a great addition to the written pattern.
Behind the pattern for The Crochet Princess Hairband
I had the idea to create this pattern while I was watching a French film I love. This film is called Ma PremiΓ¨re Fois (My First Time), and it’s really beautiful. It has all the French vibes in it, and reminded of my own time when I was in a French LycΓ©e (high school). It was great to watch this film, and the Philosophy classes they go to. When I was in class at my own lycΓ©e years ago, I had eight hours of Philosophy a week. I remember the question I had to answer at my exam, it was super hard!
The Princess Hairband
In this film, the heroine wears a very similar headband to a party. This gave me the inspiration for this project. Hers is a black lacy number, however I decided to make a white one as it is easier to film on camera. You can crochet this super easy hairband in any colour that you like, and I am planning on making a black and pink one too.
Adornments
The best part about this project is that it can be adorned with beads and pearls very easily. I may do this in the near future. I think I may well crochet a black one, and add beads to it, for a very cute night time look. Let me know if you recreate it, I love seeing your beautiful crochet work.

To sew project together:
Take elastic and place a knot into the middle of this. Sew one side of headband to the elastic with tapestry needle, making sure you sew the entire width of project to elastic.
Attach yarn to other side of headband, and sew the two parts of this, trying to keep it βflatβ (similar to other side). Making sure you donβt twist project, sew this side onto other side of elastic band.
Fasten off, tidy up all loose ends.
