Crochet The Sweet Love Regency Wrap
Crochet The Sweet Love Regency Wrap
Hi everyone, this week I am bringing to you a tutorial on how to crochet The Sweet Love Regency Wrap. This easy and beautiful crochet project is perfect for beginners. It is part of my Vintage Crochet Series. It is inspired by the wraps and accessories seen during the Regency Era. I love vintage crochet projects, and this one is beautiful.
You can find the video tutorial for this project here:
Crochet The Sweet Love Regency Wrap: a filet crochet project
I love filet crochet project. Especially when they feature hearts. I had been wanting to create a filet crochet project featuring rows of hearts for a long time now. Indeed, I love the simple repetition of rows that create motifs using filet crochet. Filet crochet can be used to create motifs such as hearts, as seen in this wrap. It is a technique that can be used more simply too, like for this Summer poncho I created a few weeks ago.
This wrap is the perfect gift for a loved one. I know I will be using this heart motif again in the future, as it looks so pretty and feminine.
Crochet The Sweet Love Regency Wrap: a Regency Era Wrap
I love my Vintage Crochet Series, where I bring to you crochet patterns inspired by past times. I have a whole collection of Vintage Crochet projects, you can find them here. These crochet patterns feature shawls and vintage Peter Pan collars, amongst other things.
I love the Regency Era for it’s fashion. The fine lines and very feminine colors really speak to my soul. I love to recreate my own version of Regency fashion. This crochet project is reminiscent of the Regency Era: the soft pink and delicate lines of this wrap are symbolic of this era. It is a narrow, long wrap that features a delicate chain arch edging. These details give this elegant wrap a Regency look.
I have already crocheted quite a few vintage wraps, such as this Edwardian Era Shawl, or this French 1940s Wrap. Let me know if you have created any of these fun crochet projects!
Crochet The Sweet Love Regency Wrap: the yarn
I used one of my favorite Summer yarns for this project. Indeed, I crocheted this wrap with King Cole’s Bamboo Cotton yarn in shade Candy. This beautiful and soft yarn is made from 50% Bamboo Viscose and 50% Cotton. It is a DK/light 3 yarn> This yarn can easily be substituted with LB Collection Cotton Bamboo by Lion Brand, for example. You can also substitute this yarn with your preferred DK/light 3 yarn too.
Bamboo cotton yarn is so perfect for accessories. In the Summer I am drawn to these soft and cool yarns. This one is particularly beautiful, and glides perfectly along the crochet hook. I highly recommend this yarn.
