I love crochet scrunchies so much. Indeed, these are so relaxing and fun to make. Crochet scrunchies also make for a perfect gift for a loved one. These scrunchies are very versatile too, and can be made in a myriad of colors too.

Recently I crocheted this romantic and lacy scrunchie. It is a very delicate project that I really enjoyed making. This scrunchie features a V stitch and is made with a fine fingering yarn. I love how feminine it is!

This romantic scrunchie is also very feminine. It features a lovely “fluffy” look, and it is very soft too as I used Lion Brand Feels Like Butta yarn to make it. I love this scrunchie so much!

Crochet Velvet Pastel Scrunchie Free Pattern: The Yarn

For this project, I used velvet yarn. Not only did I use velvet yarn, I used pastel velvet yarn. This color reminds me of the Y2K era (the Year 2000 fashion and aesthetic). Indeed, during this era, pastel colors and feminine designs were so popular! This new pastel velvet scrunchie is also inspired by the Coquette aesthetic, which I love so much too.

Last year I crocheted another velvet scrunchie, which featured a lovely white yarn. This velvet scrunchie is very simple to make, perfect for a gift for a loved one.

Velvet yarn is perfect for many different crochet patterns, and I do hope you enjoy this new crochet scrunchie.

Gauge

Gauge is not crucial for completion of this project

Materials

1 skein of Bernat Velvet Yarn, or any chunky chenille/velvet yarn of your preference

6 mm crochet hook

A tapestry needle

A pair of scissors

Simple elastic band

Abbreviations

Ch: Chain

Sl st: Slip stitch

DC: Double Crochet (UK Treble Crochet)

Start pattern here

Tie velvet yarn around elastic band

Ch 3 (=DC), place DCs all around the elastic band. Scrunch up the DCs as you go, so as to add more DCs, and have a “frilly” look.

Once you are satisfied with the appearance of your scrunchie, slip stitch through the first 3 ch and fasten off.

Tidy up all loose ends.
