Crochet Vintage Mesh Cap Free Pattern
Crochet Vintage Mesh Cap Free Pattern
Hi everyone, today I am bringing to you this crochet vintage mesh cap (free pattern). There’s something timeless about lightweight crochet accessories, especially when they combine comfort, texture, and effortless style. This crochet mesh cap is the perfect project for anyone who loves delicate handmade pieces with a modern boho feel. Designed with an airy openwork stitch pattern, this cap is light, breathable, and ideal for warmer days.

Crochet Vintage Mesh Cap Free Pattern: A Feminine And Boho Design
This crochet design is so delicate and feminine. Featuring a simple and delicate mesh stitch, this boho cap is very alluring and stylish. I love crocheted hair accessories featuring a mesh design: this bandana I made a few weeks ago is also a great crochet pattern.
The soft mesh texture gives the cap an elegant and relaxed silhouette while still feeling comfortable to wear throughout the day. The warm mustard-yellow shade adds a beautiful sunny touch that pairs perfectly with floral prints, neutral outfits, and natural fabrics. This kind of accessory instantly adds personality to an outfit while keeping that soft handmade charm that only crochet can bring.
This project is especially enjoyable because it works up quickly and creates a fabric that feels both delicate and structured. The repeating stitch pattern forms a beautiful geometric mesh effect that naturally shapes around the head without feeling heavy. Using cotton yarn helps keep the cap soft, breathable, and perfect for spring and summer styling.
Crochet Vintage Mesh Cap Free Pattern: A Delicate Hair Accessory
One of the things I love most about this crochet mesh cap is how versatile it is. It can be worn casually with denim and oversized shirts, paired with feminine dresses for a romantic boho look, or styled for beach days and summer evenings. The openwork texture gives it a light vintage-inspired feel while still looking modern and wearable. If you want, you could also crochet this mesh stitch market bag to match your boho cap.
This project is also a wonderful choice for makers who enjoy relaxing crochet patterns that are repetitive without becoming boring. Watching the mesh design slowly grow row after row is incredibly satisfying, and the finished piece feels elegant despite being simple to create.
Whether you are making this cap for yourself, as a handmade gift, or for your crochet shop, it’s the kind of project that feels both stylish and timeless. Lightweight, feminine, and easy to wear, this crochet mesh cap is a beautiful reminder that handmade accessories can be both practical and effortlessly elegant.

Pattern
Ch 4, slip stitch to first chain to create a circle.
Round 1: Ch 3 (=DC), place 15 DK into the circle (=16 DC total).
Please fasten in your loose end from beginning under your first round so as to be able to close off the center once project is finished (as explained at the end of the pattern).
2: [Ch 5, SC into the next stitch] until eor (=16 loops total).
3-16: Ch 5, place a SC into the middle of loop from last round; repeat until you reach the eor.
Please note you can either place your last SC into the SC from previous round after having placed all of your loops for each round, or you can keep going until you have your 16 rounds without stopping (ie just carry on adding loops without stopping after each round).
Once you have 16 rounds or your project measures 6,5”x9”, fasten off and tidy up all loose ends.
Pull the loose end from the beginning (under your first round), to close off center and sew in tightly so that the project does not come undone.
