Hello everyone, this week I am bringing to you a hand crochet super chunky blanket free pattern. I am very excited about this crochet project. Indeed, I have been planning this new tutorial for a long time, and I am delighted to release it this week. This is a perfect project for beginners. It is also a perfect addition to any home.

Hand Crochet Super Chunky Blanket Free Pattern: the inspiration

I have just stated I had wanted to crochet and film a hand crocheted blanket. A hand crocheted blanket is beautiful and easy to make. It is also a really quick blanket to crochet. Using our hands (or fingers), this creates a lovely and super super chunky blanket. A few months ago, I bought four skeins of Lion Brand Yarn for Yarn Workshop Chunky Knit Yarn. This lovely and soft jumbo (size 7) yarn is perfect for blankets and pillows, as stated on the front of the packet.

This yarn is very soft, perfect for a hand crocheted project. It can be substituted with any jumbo yarn of your preference, and that is the best part of this crochet pattern.

Hand Crochet Super Chunky Blanket Free Pattern: hand crocheting is easy

Hand crocheting (also called finger crocheting) is really easy, and very relaxing. A full blanket or Afghan can be crocheted within hours. This blanket took me less than two hours to crochet. I made my blanket easily using two fingers, my index and thumb. After chaining a number of chains (indicated down below in the pattern section), row after of row of single crochets in the back loop only create this lovely chunky knit look stitch. I am in love with this blanket. I will be gifting it to my amazing little boy as he loves snuggling up in my crochet blankets.

Gauge is not crucial for completion of this project

Size of finished blanket

25″ (64 cm) x 30″ (77 cm)

Abbreviations

Ch: chain

SC: Single Crochet (UK Double Crochet)

Sl st: Slip stitch

EOR: End of Row

Materials

4 skeins of Lion Brand Yarn for Yarn Workshop Chunky Knit Yarn in shade Feather (you can substitute with any jumbo/size 7 yarn of your preference)

A pair of scissors

Pattern

With your hand (using mainly your index finger and thumb), chain 20.

Complete rows as follows:

1: SC in 2nd chain from hook (1st stitch does not count as a SC), SC into next ch until eor.

2: Ch 1 (=SC), SC into the front loop only of the next SC from previous row until eor.

3-17 (or until you are satisfied with length of blanket): repeat row 2.

Fasten off, tidy up all loose ends using your fingers.
