Hand Knit Crochet Blanket Free Pattern: The Inspiration

I crocheted a hand crocheted blanket a few years ago, and everyone loved that tutorial! It was a really fun blanket to crochet, and I really enjoyed it then. This past week-end, I stopped off at The Range, a big home goods store in England. I was really happily surprised by their selection of yarn, especially their blanket yarn range. 

Of late, I had been looking for some yarn to film a new tutorial. I was so pleased to find this yarn in the store because I had looked in vain for a long time. For this project, I again selected a white yarn, same as my last hand crocheted blanket from a few years ago. 

I absolutely love hand crocheting, as it is so relaxing. I think next time I hand crochet a blanket, I will be making a pink one! This technique is great for lots of different projects, such as cushions, rugs and baskets.

Hand Knit Crochet Blanket Free Pattern: A Great Gift

This crochet project makes for a great gift too. It is a fast and fun project to crochet. Indeed, this hand made blanket can be made in many different colors too. I think I may buy more yarn to hand crochet more items in the future.

Level: Easy

Note: I will be using US terms (UK terms in brackets)

Gauge

Gauge is not crucial for completion of this project

Size of finished blanket

22” x 31” (56 x 78,5 cm)

Abbreviations

Ch: chain

SC: Single Crochet (UK Double Crochet)

Sl st: Slip stitch

EOR: End of Row

Materials

5 skeins of Divante White Velvet Tube Yarn (you can substitute with any jumbo/size 7 yarn of your preference such as Lion Brand Yarn for Yarn Workshop Chunky Knit Yarn in shade Feather)

A pair of scissors

Pattern

With your hand (using mainly your index finger and thumb), chain 20.

Complete rows as follows:

1: SC in 2nd chain from hook (1st stitch does not count as a SC), SC into next ch until eor.

2: Ch 1 (=SC), SC into the front loop only of the next SC from previous row until eor.

3-10 (or until you are satisfied with length of blanket): repeat row 2.

Fasten off, tidy up all loose ends using your fingers.
