Crochet Easy Shell Stitch Headband Free Pattern

Hi everyone, today I am bringing to you this brand new tutorial on how to crochet this easy shell stitch headband. I have called this new project The Mermaid’s Headband because it so soft and romantic. It reminds me of the sea and I can definitely picture it adorning the head of a mystical siren. This crochet hairband is perfect for beginners. It is also great for lots of different occasions, and makes a perfect Christmas or birthday gift. If you love headbands, you can check out this Boho festival headband that was a huge success on my channel.

The video tutorial for this project can be found here:

Crochet Easy Shell Stitch Headband Free Pattern: The Yarn

This crochet headband looks beautiful in all seasons. It is a delicate and feminine crochet hairband that is also a very fast project to make. I crocheted it with one of my favorite yarns, which is Lion Brand’s Feels Like Butta yarn. Indeed, I used this yarn last week to crochet this beautiful and vintage shawl. This crochet headband is easy and delicate, and has a very soft feel to it.

This is such an easy project

This simple and feminine scrunchie is also made with Feels Like Butta yarn, and has been an all time favorite for many people. I believe that this yarn is perfect for hair accessories. Indeed, it has a very soft feel to it, but also has a toughness to it that makes it perfect to crochet hair pieces with, as these need to be hard wearing for ease of use. So this means that it is a very good option to make hair accessories with, because it is so much more long lasting than cotton yarn, and yet it is a nice change from cotton too.

So if you are looking for a romantic and soft look, this is perfect! I know I absolutely am in love with this headband. You could even match it to my all time favorite sweater, The Mint Heart Sweater. This lovely sweater featuring hearts is also made with this yarn, so you could definitely match it with this delicate headband.

Crochet Easy Shell Stitch Headband Free Pattern: The Design

This crochet design is perfect for beginners. It looks beautiful in all seasons, and features a delicate design. The pattern is quite simple, and the main part of the headband is made with a simple Half Double Crochet repeat.

This crochet headband is perfect for beginners and is a great gift for many people. You can make it in many different colors too, so it is easy to customize! I have already crocheted this sweet and feminine headband using Feels Like Butta yarn in shade Pink, and I absolutely love it to this day.

With this pattern, once the main part of the headband is finished, a simple shell stitch edging is added to each side. This creates a lovely and feminine touch, which definitely is reminiscent of mermaids and the sea. Once this stage is completed, a simple elastic band which has been tied at the center is added, to complete this beautiful head piece.

I hope you enjoy this fun project, please let me know in the comments if you did enjoy it.

To sew elastic band onto project

Take elastic and place a knot into the middle of it; sew one side of headband to the elastic with tapestry needle, making sure you sew the entire width of the headband to elastic.

Making sure you do not twist project, sew on second side of headband to other side of elastic.

Fasten off, tidy up all loose ends.
